Every day humans generate tonnes of waste, which is causing landfills to overflow. But what if we could use that waste to produce something useful? Thanyaporn Wongnate has found a way to do just that, developing a microbial cocktail that converts organic waste into natural gases for use as alternative fuels. Her research has been recognised by L’Oréal Thailand with its For Women in Science 2019 award.
