The Chinese tropical coastal city of Sanya in south China’s Hainan Province boasts a total of 1,365 yachts in 2023, according to the maritime affairs department.
This year, 228 yachts were registered in the municipality. Department data showed that as of December 20, yachts in Sanya have sailed 149,700 times and received more than 1 million tourist trips this year, increases of 68.5% and 84.5% respectively, compared with 2022.
The number of tourist trips received by yachts in Sanya in 2023 is estimated to surpass the all-time record of 1.05 million trips.
