100 days before the most prestigious men’s tournament in Asia, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the Qatar 2023 Asian CupTM have today unveiled the official slogan of the competition: Hayya Asia.
Hayya Asia, offering ardent Asian football fans the chance to make their voices heard, has been confirmed as the official motto of the Qatar 2023 Asian CupTM from a shortlist of 11, following a global online participation campaign launched on September 12 to mark the four-month countdown of the tournament.
Mariano V. Araneta Jr., President of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee, addressed the representatives of the 24 participating teams at the countdown event of the 100 days remaining until the start of the competition, held in Doha (Qatar) together with the National Teams Workshop: The AFC has outlined its vision to ensure that football remains the most popular sport on the continent, and Hayya Asia is a call to the passionate and diverse fans of Asian football to come together and celebrate the largest edition of Asia’s crown jewel to date.”

Synonymous to audiences throughout the region, Hayya Asia, of Arabic origin, translates as “Let’s go Asia!” The slogan is welcoming, familiar and easy to pronounce for non-Arabic speakers, giving it universal appeal, and exemplifies the growing stature and reach of the continent’s largest men’s tournament.
At the same time, it serves as a clarion call for the participating teams and players to deliver a unique performance in their race to win the continent’s most coveted prize, while galvanizing the Asian football community around the planet, from the fans to volunteers, including referees, to unite in the world-renowned spirit of Asian solidarity.

For Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar 2023 Asian CupTM Local Organizing Committee, hosting the AFC Asian Cup™ is about much more than football.
At the same time, it serves as a clarion call for the participating teams and players to offer a unique performance in their race to win the most coveted prize on the continent.
“Qatar is ready once again to welcome fans from around the world to celebrate the beautiful game. Hosting tournaments of this size and stature provides us with an important opportunity for cultural exchange and a platform to showcase the immense talents and human potential we have in Qatar and beyond. The winner of the official motto contest who has voted for Hayya Asia and completed the quiz on the continent’s oldest competition in the fastest time will be invited, along with a companion, to the opening match between defending champions Qatar and Lebanon, which will be held at the iconic Lusail Stadium in Doha on January 12, 2024.
The unveiling of the slogan coincides with the launch of the official countdown on the-AFC.com, which will continue until kick-off at 7:00 p.m. local time.
Eagerly anticipated by hundreds of millions of fans around the world, the 18th edition of the AFCTM Asian Cup is set to become one of the most innovative in history: it will be the first to be held in World Cup venues FIFA, the first to have female referees and the video assistant referee system from kick-off to the final on February 10.
