Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister meets with Japan’s Foreign Minister – Asia News

On October 12, 2023, Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand, held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister of Japan Kamikawa Yoko in the Buakaew Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , during her introductory visit to Thailand as a guest of the Ministry from October 12 to 13, 2023.

On this occasion, both parties reiterated their commitment to advance the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” between Thailand and Japan. They also welcomed the close cooperation in security and defense, as well as interpersonal relations, and agreed to promote more exchanges of high-level visits.

On the economic front, in pursuit of Thailand’s “Proactive Economic Diplomacy”, Thailand and Japan, as long-time high-quality economic partners, agreed to promote new economic industries, such as digital economy, innovations, economic Blue, the Green Economy, and deepen collaboration in sectors in which Japan has extensive experience, such as EV, medical devices, bioindustry, creative economy, digital economy, and maximize the use of their respective “soft powers ”.

In addition, they welcomed the successful training of the first class of Thai Kosen graduates. Both parties will cooperate to support the career paths of these young graduates, as well as the possibility of them continuing their training in Japan.
