The leading group of the fourth national cultural heritage survey in China held its first meeting on Thursday. Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and State Counselor Shen Yiqin attended the meeting. Both also serve as leaders of the group.

It was highlighted at the meeting that the survey of cultural heritage is a fundamental task for the development of relevant work, and all cultural relics that must be protected must be covered in the protection work.

The meeting also called for efforts to separate relevant information, as well as the organizational and financial preparation necessary for the research. Any violations during the survey shall be met with appropriate punishment in accordance with the meeting. He also emphasized that the research should be carried out as a campaign to promote cultural literacy among the public and promote the country’s ethical-cultural progress.
