Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on Women. Xi said women are important promoters of human civilization and social progress and have made remarkable achievements in all walks of life. Since the launch of the forum, women from various countries have, upholding the Shanghai Spirit, contributed to building an SCO community that is even closer to a shared future.
It is hoped that the forum can continue to play a positive role in promoting friendship and people-to-people interconnectivity among various countries, injecting new impetus into the formation of closer SCO cultural ties, he added.
Xi noted that China is ready to work with all parties to promote scientific and technological innovation and the development of women’s causes through digital empowerment, and jointly build a better SCO family. The forum opened Wednesday in Qingdao City, east China’s Shandong Province.
