- If you are adding ingredients like onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc., chop them into small pieces.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs. If using milk, add it to the eggs and beat until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Heat the butter or olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
- Pour the beaten eggs into the heated frying pan.
- Let cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the eggs are almost set on top and golden underneath.
- If using additional ingredients such as cheese, ham, vegetables, etc., add them to half the eggs in the skillet.
- Using a spatula, fold the other half of the eggs over the additional ingredients, forming the omelet.
- Let it cook for a few more seconds to melt the cheese, if using.
- Transfer the omelet to a plate and serve hot.
