Check out the preparation method to make your rice with broccoli. Use the ingredients below and add whatever else you want.


  • 2 cups white rice

  • 4 cups of water

  • 1 head of broccoli

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 cloves of minced garlic

  • Salt to taste

  • Pepper to taste (optional)

  • Grated cheese (optional, for sprinkling)

Preparation mode

  • Wash the broccoli head thoroughly under running water.
  • Separate the florets into smaller sizes.
  • Peel and chop the thickest stalks of broccoli.
  • In a large pot, add the 4 cups of water and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • When the water is boiling, add the rice and a pinch of salt.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the rice until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. This should take about 15-20 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  • Add the broccoli stalks to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Then add the broccoli florets to the pan and continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.
  • Mix the cooked rice with the sautéed broccoli in the pan.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top before serving.
  • Serve hot as a side dish with other meals or as a main course.
