Rice with broccoli
Check out the preparation method to make your rice with broccoli. Use the ingredients below and add whatever else you want.
Ingredients

2 cups white rice

4 cups of water

1 head of broccoli

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves of minced garlic

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste (optional)

Grated cheese (optional, for sprinkling)
Preparation mode
- Wash the broccoli head thoroughly under running water.
- Separate the florets into smaller sizes.
- Peel and chop the thickest stalks of broccoli.
- In a large pot, add the 4 cups of water and bring to a boil over high heat.
- When the water is boiling, add the rice and a pinch of salt.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the rice until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. This should take about 15-20 minutes. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli stalks to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Then add the broccoli florets to the pan and continue cooking for another 5-7 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.
- Mix the cooked rice with the sautéed broccoli in the pan.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top before serving.
- Serve hot as a side dish with other meals or as a main course.
