The city of Recife is preparing to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Dragon. The Chinese New Year Festival will take place between the 2nd and 3rd of February at Dona Lindu Park, in the Boa Viagem neighborhood.

During the two days of the event, the immersive exhibition “China Live” will be open at Galeria Janete Costa, between 2pm and 9pm. On Friday, 2nd, the public will still be able to watch a projection show at the venue, starting at 6pm.

On Saturday, the 3rd, cultural workshops will be held on dragon assembly, fan design and archaeological screening, between 4pm and 9pm. The celebrations will end with a cultural presentation and a projection show starting at 6:30 pm.

“There will be a very special celebration with various activities for the whole family”, stated the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, when announcing the activities through its official Instagram account. “Everything is being organized with great care to welcome you!”

The event is held by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Recife, in partnership with Recife City Hall and CMG Latin America.
