China’s New Energy Vehicle Industry (NEVs) registered strong growth in the first quarter of 2025. According to the Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), NEV production increased by 50% over the same period last year, totaling 3 million units. Sales rose 47%, reaching 3 million vehicles, representing 41% of total car sales in the country.

Sector performance reflects the positive effects of measures implemented to stimulate car consumption. In total, vehicle production in China reached 7.5 million units in the quarter, an annual increase of 14%, while sales totaled 7.5 million, up 11%.

Exports also maintained a constant growth pace, with 7% advance over the same period last year. Among the highlights, nev exports grew 44%, totaling 441 thousand units sent abroad.
