Technological cooperation between China and Latin America is becoming increasingly robust and structured, with the formation of a multifaceted network of multiple layers, said Yin Hejun, Chinese minister of science and technology. The statement was made on Wednesday (24), during the inaugural event of China-América Latin and Caribbean Science Day.
According to Yin, in addition to traditional areas – such as infrastructure, agriculture and energy – the partnership has expanded to strategic and innovative sectors, including 5G, digital technology, new energy, new materials and biomedicine. Bilateral sustainable food innovation centers and technology transfer have already been established to face joint challenges.
During the event, experts on both sides presented advances in areas such as health, biological reproduction and precision agriculture, reinforcing the bet on a more open and collaborative environment for international scientific innovation.
