Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira announced a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping on November 18 and 19, in Rio de Janeiro, during the G20 Leaders’ Summit. This year, the event will be held under the presidency of Brazil.

The trip by the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CCP) is expected to follow a series of political, academic and cultural meetings between Brazil and China, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations, throughout 2024. Official celebration will take place on August 15th.

According to Agência Brasil, the announcement was made during the meeting between Mauro Vieira and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, at Palácio Itamaraty, in Brasília, this Friday.

The ministers also released a logo, created jointly between the two countries, for the celebrations. Check out:
