The list of ingredients needed to prepare your Oat Cake is here:


  • 1 cup of rolled oats

  • 1 cup milk (can be plant-based milk for a vegan version)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or oat flour for a gluten-free version)

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup sugar (can be replaced with honey, maple syrup, or other sweetener of your choice)

  • 2 eggs (or egg substitute for a vegan version)

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Dried fruit, nuts or chocolate chips (optional, to add to taste)

Preparation mode

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a cake pan or line with baking paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the oats and milk. Let it sit for about 10 minutes so the oats absorb the liquid.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the oil, sugar, eggs (or egg substitute) and vanilla essence to the oat and milk mixture. Shake well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the liquid mixture, stirring until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
  • If desired, add dried fruits, nuts or chocolate chips to the dough and mix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool before slicing and serving.
