1 cup butter (at room temperature)

1 and 1/2 cup sugar

Juice and zest of 2 lemons

Preparation mode
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well and set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until you obtain a creamy mixture.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add the lemon juice and zest to the mixture and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the yogurt. Start and end with the flour mixture, mixing just until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the lemon frosting. In a bowl, mix the icing sugar with the lemon juice until you get a homogeneous coating.
- Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes in the pan. Then, turn out the cake onto a serving plate.
- Drizzle the cake with lemon icing while it is still warm. Bake with a second layer of topping if desired.
- Let the cake cool completely before cutting and serving.
