The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, with the full support of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI, the Ministry of Commerce, Bank Indonesia, Sarinah, KADIN and Jakarta Fashion Week, in collaboration with Takashimaya Singapore, organized an integrated trade exhibition in one of Singapore’s best-known shopping malls, Takashimaya Square. The grand opening of the exhibition, titled Indonesia in SG: New Horizon of Sustainable Indonesia on April 17.

The grand opening was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Mr. Cecep Herawan, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Commerce of Indonesia, Mr. Suhanto, the Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Commerce of Indonesia , Mr. Didi Sumedi, the President Director of BNI, Mr. Royke Tumilaar, the President Director of Sarinah, Ms. Fetty Kwartati, and the Head of the Payment Systems Policy Department of Bank Indonesia, Mr. Dicky Kartikoyono.

In his speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore, Suryo Pratomo, stated that the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore always strives to bring high-quality products from Indonesia to Singapore, so that it can increase its contribution to the GDP. These products contribute significantly to the creation of jobs and sustainable livelihoods.

For his part, the Chief Director of the BNI, Mr. Royke Tumilaar, stated that the BNI is committed to always supporting Indonesian SMEs to increase their competitiveness and penetrate the global market, one of the ways of which is by supporting the participation at fairs like Indonesia in SG. BNI believes that the promoted products will attract the interest of visitors and open new business opportunities for Indonesian SMEs.

Not only retail fashion, the integrated exhibition, which will take place from April 17 to 21, 2024, will also feature various Indonesian art and culture events and performances, such as musical performances, fashion shows, literary demonstrations, batik workshops , cooking demonstrations and B2C trade shows. showcasing more than 20 of Indonesia’s top fashion brands as well as more than 15 top products from selected SMEs.

The Indonesia in SG exhibition is estimated to attract at least 210,000 visitors during its run. This is evident from the average number of visitors to Ngee Ann/Takashimaya, which is quite promising: about 73,000 tourists per weekday and 91,000 visitors per day on weekends.
