The arrival of Chinese New Year, in February, sparks the search for typical Chinese crafts, which decorate buildings and streets. China’s national intangible cultural heritage, the Zigong lantern show has a long history, dating back to the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties.

Deng Peilin, born in the 1970s, is a prominent lantern craftsman. He apprenticed with renowned artisans for years to gain the skills of designing and making objects. Deng has witnessed the development of the Zigong lantern industry over the past two decades and his team has organized exhibitions around the world.
