Ingredients

2 cups of wheat flour

1 cup of sugar

1/2 cup vegetable oil (e.g. canola oil)

1 cup of water

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)

1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon of baking powder

A bit of salt
Preparation mode
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with oil or line with baking paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the oil, water, apple cider vinegar and vanilla essence.
- Combine the liquid ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix well until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Do not stir excessively, just enough to incorporate all the ingredients.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- After it has cooled, you can decorate the cake however you wish, with icing, fruit, or whatever you prefer.
