The second large cruise ship made in China is under construction and is expected to be delivered by the end of 2026, according to Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding.

The schedule revealed by the shipbuilder this Wednesday showed that the cruise ship should leave the dock at the end of March 2026, with trial navigation beginning in June. The naming and delivery of the ship will be made before the end of the same year.

Compared to the country’s first domestically built large cruise ship, the Adora Magic City, the new ship is larger in size, with a total weight of almost 142 thousand tons and a length of 340 meters.

Despite a larger construction volume than Adora Magic City, the new ship’s total construction hours are expected to be reduced by 20% compared to its predecessor.

In January this year, the Adora Magic City completed its first commercial voyage after traveling 1,119 nautical miles on a seven-day, six-night voyage, attracting significant interest from tourists.
