The two ships sent by the China Coast Guard (GCC) completed a 2023 patrol mission to enforce high-sea fishing law in the North Pacific Ocean and returned to Shanghai on Tuesday.

During their 45-day patrol, GCC ships observed 77 fishing boats and boarded 12 to conduct high-sea inspections.

They carried out the inspections in accordance with relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly and the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean, the GCC said.
