China’s assistance programs created more than 2.5 million jobs for the low-income population last year, resulting in an increase in per capita income of more than 14,000 yuan ($1,900) for this public, according to official data released by the National Development and Reform Commission.

The projects are developed through government investments for the construction of infrastructure projects, contributing to the creation of new jobs in different regions. The commission revealed that, together with other departments, it continued to promote supporting central government investment for special purposes and providing guidance to local regions to boost employment assistance in major engineering projects as well as agricultural and rural infrastructure in different localities .

In the next stage, the commission will continue to work with relevant departments and local governments to expand the scope of programs, increase the scale of labor subsidies, and fully put into practice the important role of public policy in protecting people’s livelihoods and promoting development.
