According to the ministry, the Seoul AI Summit will open with the attendance of leaders from major countries and global technology companies, as a follow-up to the AI Safety Summitheld in November last year, in the United Kingdom.

The summit will consist of the leaders’ session, with the theme “Building on the AI ​​Safety Summit: Towards an innovative and inclusive future”, and the ministers’ session, which will discuss AI safety and its sustainable development.

South Korea’s response to low birth rates

Specifically, government officials and industry and academic representatives from 19 countries plan to attend the ministerial session to discuss global cooperation on AI safety and ways to respond to potential AI-related risks. in the future, such as high energy consumption.

On the second day, the Global Artificial Intelligence Forum will take place, organized solely by the South Korean Government, as proposed by President Yoon Suk Yeol last year during his opening speech at the UN General Assembly, with the aim of launching a new global AI governance structure.

Song Sang-hoon, vice minister of the ICT policy office at the ministry, said the Seoul AI Summit plans to propose to international society security, innovation and inclusion as the three goals of AI governance. technology. He also added that the event will help the country reflect its digital and AI vision in the global initiative.
