China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has issued a plan to boost domestic tourism with a focus on offering a more diverse set of tourism products.
New projects suitable for students and seniors are expected to be launched, in addition to ice and snow tours, marine tours, cruises, adventure tours, stargazing and city walks, according to the plan.
The plan also aims to improve the consumer experience while traveling, offer better public services, implement virtual visits to museums and strengthen market regulation.
China recorded more than 2.38 billion domestic trips during the first half of this year, raking in tourism revenue of 2.3 trillion yuan ($315.2 billion), official statistics showed.
