Arena of Valor is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game that was included as a competitive test for the first time at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Since its introduction as a demonstration sport in 2018, this is the first time that esports medals will count towards a country’s total at the Asian Games.

Its inclusion has served to draw widespread attention to the category, especially among young people, and could lead to esports being included in the Olympic Games in the future.
