Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min has been nominated for the EPL Player of the Month award for March and is looking to claim the honor for the second time this season.

The English Football League recently revealed seven nominees for the monthly award on its website.

Later, on Saturday of last week, in his first game back after his international commitmentthe South Korean captain scored the winning goal in the last minute of the match, 2-1, against Luton Town.

For the award, Son is competing with internationally renowned footballers such as Alexander Isak of Newcastle United, Alexis Mac Allister of Liverpool, Rodrigo Muniz Carvalho of Fulham, Cole Palmer of Chelsea, Antoine Semenyo of AFC Bournemouth, and Ben White of Arsenal.

If he were to win this time, Son would tie with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Mohamed Salah for third place in the number of player of the month awards won in EPL history. Among current players in the league, only Liverpool’s Salah has received it more times than Son.
