Ulbricht, who was sentenced to multiple life sentences without parole for operating the darknet market Silk Road, emphasized that his priority was to be reunited with his loved ones.
“No matter how much time we need, I will be with my family so we can come together again, be whole again, and heal,” he said. “But there is much to talk about, and I look forward to re-engaging with the free world. “We will talk again when I feel better.”
Earlier this week, Trump signed an executive order granting a full pardon to Ulbricht, citing the support of the Libertarian Movement as a key factor in his decision.

Ulbricht’s conviction for money laundering, computer hacking, and conspiracy to commit drug trafficking resulted in him being sentenced to two life sentences plus 40 years without parole, making his pardon one of the most controversial in recent history.
