Ingredients

2 cups white rice

4 cups of water

300g of calabresa sausage (can be replaced with the sausage of your choice)

1 large onion, chopped

2 cloves of minced garlic

2 tablespoons cooking oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped chives to finish (optional)
Preparation mode
- Remove the skin from the sausage and cut into thin slices or small pieces, as you prefer.
- In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until golden and soft.
- Add the cut sausage to the pan and fry until golden brown on the outside.
- When the sausage is browned, add the rice to the pan and mix well with the sausage, onion and garlic.
- Add water to the rice and bring to a boil.
- Once it boils, lower the heat, cover the pan and cook over low heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water has been absorbed.
- After the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and leave the pan covered for a few minutes.
- Before serving, top with chopped parsley, if desired.
- Serve the rice with hot sausage accompanied by a green salad or cooked vegetables.
