The national delegation, which will be led by the president of Turismo de Portugal (TP), Carlos Abade, aims, according to the entity, to explore opportunities for cooperation between tourism entities in both countriesencourage cooperation in the area of ​​student training and the training of tourism professionals, as well as encouraging local companies to invest in the tourism industry in Portugal.

“It is effectively an issuing market with strategic importance, not only because of its size, but also because of the history that unites us. Tourism plays a key role in deepening bilateral relations and in the pursuit of a greater balance in Portugal’s trade balance with China”, states Carlos Abade, quoted in the statement.

Turismo de Portugal recalls that China is the largest tourism source market in the worldwhich is why “it is viewed strategically”, and with “huge potential and interest in the short, medium and long term” for Portugal.
