The musical “Luduan”, produced by the Palace Museum, was presented in a theater in Beijing this Thursday and will have more performances in February.

Named after a unicorn in Chinese mythology, Luduan images can be found in many places in the historic site. Inspired by the auspicious creature, the musical unfolds a series of captivating stories involving the protagonist, Little Luduan, and his family members made up of cultural relics. The plot also reflects innovative ways of inheriting objects.

The musical will perform on February 15th and 17th and February 23rd and 25th at the Beijing Overseas Chinese Town Grand Theatre. Additionally, the Palace Museum’s official website recently launched an online exhibition to celebrate Chinese New Year, featuring dragon-themed images and videos, as well as panoramic displays of dragon elements in architecture.
