Make this oven baked fish with the ingredients below. If you follow the preparation instructions, it will be great!


  • 1 whole fish (e.g. sea bass, tilapia, trout) – cleaned and scaled

  • 1 lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (optional)

  • Lemon slices to decorate

Preparation mode

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Wash the fish well, making sure to remove all scales and entrails. If the fish has already been cleaned by the fisherman or at the market, just rinse it.
  • Make diagonal cuts in the skin of the fish, about 2 to 3 centimeters apart, to allow the seasoning to penetrate.
  • Season the fish with salt, pepper and lemon juice, ensuring that the seasoning gets into the cuts made in the skin.
  • In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, olive oil and fresh herbs (rosemary and thyme).
  • Spread this mixture all over the fish, rubbing it well into the cuts.
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper and place the fish on it.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes (depending on the size of the fish), or until the flesh is cooked through and the skin is golden brown.
  • Garnish with lemon wedges before serving.
  • Serve the baked fish with sides of your choice, such as rice, roasted potatoes or grilled vegetables.
