Ingredients

  • 500g ground meat (can be beef, pork or mixed)

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves of minced garlic

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 ovo

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional seasonings (such as parsley, chives, oregano, etc.)

  • Slices of cheese and ham (optional, for the filling)

  • Olive oil or oil for greasing

Preparation mode

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg and seasonings.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Place the meat mixture on top of a piece of aluminum foil greased with olive oil or cooking oil.
  • Spread the meat in an even layer, forming a rectangle.
  • If you are using cheese and ham as a filling, place the cheese and ham slices over the meat, leaving a border of about 1cm on all sides.
  • Carefully, using the foil to help, roll the meat into a Swiss roll shape. Make sure to roll it tightly so that the filling is in the center.
  • Place the roulade on a baking sheet greased with olive oil or cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through on the inside and golden brown on the outside.
  • Remove the roll from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before cutting into slices. Serve hot with your favorite sauce and side dishes of your choice, such as rice, mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
