Car rental services in China have seen robust business growth thanks to a strong recovery in the tourism market. Home services giant CAR Inc. said total orders for its rental services during the July-August period increased by about 50% year-on-year and exceeded that of 2019, as many people chose to travel during the holidays of summer.
Requests from new users rose almost 80%, breaking a record, and requests between cities accounted for more than 80% of the total, he added. The company has also seen a rise in long-term car rental services, with orders for periods of five days or more increasing 70% annually.
Thanks to the country’s improved infrastructure for new energy vehicles (NEVs) such as charging stations, requests for rental services for NEVs rose more than 150% year on year, data from CAR Inc. showed.
