IHH Healthcare Malaysia has marked a new milestone with the launch of a comprehensive renewable energy initiative across its network, becoming the country’s pioneering private healthcare provider in the transition to solar energy by installing solar panels in its hospitals.

This event was officiated with the energization of the solar panels of the Prince Court Medical Center by Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Resources Transformation (PETRA).

Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah said: “IHH Healthcare’s initiative is an important milestone in Malaysia’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. “It aligns perfectly with our national goals to increase the use of renewable energy and achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This project serves as an inspiring model for other sectors to emulate.”

The renewable energy initiative undertaken by IHH Healthcare Malaysia is in line with Malaysia’s goal of reducing its dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to global efforts against climate change.

The full deployment of solar energy across all IHH Healthcare Malaysia hospitals is expected to be completed by 2025. This initiative is a strategic partnership with Ditrolic Energy, one of the largest renewable energy developers in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
