A lineup of cutting-edge devices from Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei, including a new smartwatch, made its world debut in Barcelona, Spain, last week.
On the 10th anniversary of Huawei’s entry into the accessories sector, the company revealed its new strategy, saying it aims to usher in a new era of devices focusing on combining style, health and sport with the slogan “Advancement in Fashion”.
Attending the launch of the Watch GT 4 line were fitness and lifestyle influencer Pamela Reif and long-distance running legend Mo Farah, who will promote the new smartwatches as Huawei ambassadors.
Multi-time Olympic, world and European champion, Farah told Xinhua that he would have loved to have all this information provided by his smartwatch back when he was winning medals and breaking records as a long-distance runner. “He has a connection to Strava (a resourceful platform for athletes) and all his databases, his coach, himself. You can get better at what you do,” he said.
The Watch GT 4 is the latest generation in the company’s flagship Watch GT line. It has several health and fitness features, such as improved heart rate detection technology to provide more accurate results or a feature that helps predict menstrual cycles.
