A private space company from China successfully carried out the first test of broadband internet via a low-orbit satellite in Thailand.

GalaxySpace, a private satellite manufacturer in Beijing, has established a test station at Mahanakorn University of Technology in Thailand. It can continuously observe the communication capabilities of millimeter-wave satellite signals under local weather conditions.

This cooperation provides a platform that local companies and universities can use to research low-orbit satellite communication systems and helps boost the development of Thailand’s technological capabilities and related application scenarios, said Liu Chang, vice president of GalaxySpace .
