Shipments of foldable cell phones in the Chinese market increased 114% in 2023 compared to the previous year, according to an industry report.
The shipment volume of these cellphones surpassed seven million units last year, marking an annual increase of more than 100% for four consecutive years, according to the report from global market research firm International Data Corporation.
The report attributed the growth to improved consumer experience and a further drop in prices. In 2023, foldable cell phones costing US$1,000 or more will occupy 66% of the market, down from 81% in 2022.
