China Cyberspace Administration has announced plans to intensify the supervision of the use of Artificial Intelligence (IA) as part of the 2025 national “Qinglang” campaign, which aims to combat online misconduct and ensure a safer digital environment.
The initiative will include measures to regulate AI -generated content, require clear labeling of synthetic materials, and impose misuse of technology, such as disinformation or manipulating public opinion through paid groups to influence online debates.
In addition to AI, the campaign will focus on combating fake news spread by social media influencers, malicious marketing in short videos and unqualified rumors that can harm companies. There will also be efforts to protect minors in the digital environment, especially during summer holidays.
In recent years, the “Qinglang” operation has resulted in the removal of problematic accounts and platforms, helping to curb violations and promote a more transparent and safe online ecosystem. The 2025 edition will reinforce these advances with an even more rigorous approach.
