It has a creamy layer in the center that contrasts with the firmer part on the edges, creating a unique experience with each bite. Perfect to accompany a coffee or tea, it is an excellent choice for breakfast, afternoon snack or any special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 cups of sugar tea

  • 4 cups of milk tea

  • 2 tablespoons of butter (melted)

  • 1 and 1/2 cup of cornmeal

  • 1/2 cup of wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder

  • 50g of grated cheese (optional, for an extra touch of flavor)

  • 2 tablespoons of grated coconut (optional)

  • 1 salt whistle

Preparation mode

  • Preheat the oven at 180 ° C and grease a shape with butter and flour.
  • In a blender, beat eggs, sugar, milk and butter until smooth.
  • Add the cornmeal, wheat flour and pinch of salt, and beat again until you incorporate all ingredients.
  • If desired, add the grated cheese and the grated coconut to give more flavor.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently with a spoon or spatula.
  • Pour the dough into greased form. The pasta will be liquid, but this is normal as the cake will firm and create the creamy layer during cooking.
  • Bake for about 40 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden and firm. The center will still be slightly creamy.
  • Remove from oven, wait for it to cool and serve.
