The Dongfeng landing site in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is ready to welcome back the Shenzhou-18 astronaut crew, the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center said.
To ensure speedy search and rescue, the latest comprehensive exercise was carried out at the Dongfeng landing site from Thursday evening to early Friday morning, the center said.
The return capsule of the Shenzhou-18 manned spacecraft, carrying three astronauts, is expected to land on Earth in the early hours of November 4. The comprehensive exercise was planned to meet any expected difficulties and requirements of challenging conditions such as weather, according to the center.
All personnel and equipment at the Dongfeng landing site are ready to be mobilized to support search and rescue missions. Furthermore, the Shenzhou-18 crew has completed all preparations before leaving the Tiangong space station.
