The state of São Paulo was present for the first time at the International Consumer Products Exhibition of China, held in Hainan, in the south of the country. The initiative seeks to bring Brazilian products closer to the promising Chinese consumer market, focusing on high value -added food and beverages.

At the stand of the Paulista Investment Promotion Agency, cafes, chocolates and juices aroused the public interest. According to Inty Scoss Mendoza, head of the agency’s representation in Shanghai, the goal is to expand the presence of finished goods on China shelves, making São Paulo products more accessible to the local consumer.

“We want to show that we have very high quality products and that we can meet the growing demand of the Chinese market,” said Mendoza, who also highlighted the need for local partnerships to overcome the challenges of entry into a highly competitive market.

With over 4,100 brands from 71 countries, the fair in Hainan is the largest in the sector in the Asia-Pacific region and represents a strategic showcase to expand commercial ties between Brazil and China.
