Hot hole is a simple and delicious recipe, ideal to serve as a snack or side dish. Here’s a basic recipe for making hot hole:
Ingredients
-
500g ground meat (can be beef or pork)
-
1 large chopped onion
-
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
-
2 ripe tomatoes, chopped
-
1 chopped green pepper
-
1 tablespoon of oil
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
French bread (or other bread of your choice)
Preparation mode
- In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they are golden.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and stir well, breaking up any larger pieces with a wooden spoon. Cook until the meat is well browned.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and peppers to the pan, and continue stirring for a few more minutes until the vegetables are soft.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and let it cook for a few more minutes to enhance the flavor.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Cut the French bread in half, lengthwise, and remove some of the crumb to create a “hole” in the center of each half.
- Place the bread halves on a baking tray and bake for a few minutes so they become slightly crispy.
- Remove the bread from the oven and fill each half with the prepared ground meat.
- Serve immediately while hot.
