China and the United States should choose dialogue over confrontation and win-win cooperation over zero-sum games, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday in his congratulatory letter to the 2024 gala dinner of the US-China Business Council (USCBC).
In the letter, Xi extended congratulations to the council and all its members, and sent sincere greetings to people in all sectors in the United States who have been caring for and supporting trade cooperation between the two countries.
Noting that the relationship between China and the US is one of the most important relations in the world, Xi said this relationship concerns not only the immediate interests of the Chinese and American people, but also the future and destiny of all mankind.
Xi said both countries will gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation, adding that China is prepared to maintain communication with the United States so as to expand cooperation, manage differences, continue exploring the right path for two countries understand each other in the new era and realize a peaceful and long-term coexistence on this planet for the benefit of both countries and the world at large.
