Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of education for scientific and technological progress and the development of talents during a meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese Political Advisory Conference (CCPPC) on Thursday. He highlighted the need to align education with the demands of Chinese modernization, promoting a continuous flow of talents and ensuring that their skills are fully used.
XI defended the deepening of educational reform, granting greater autonomy to schools and improving the administration based on the law. According to him, the interaction between scientific innovation and talent formation must be strengthened to meet the needs of economic and social development. In addition, he stressed that the advancement of education, technology and talents is a collective responsibility of the party and society.
The meeting was attended by Wang Huning, president of CCPPC, and Cai Qi, director of the General Office of the CCP Central Committee, both members of the Party Political Birô Committee.
