Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim will pay a Working Visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to attend the Special Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) from April 27 to 29, 2024, at the invitation of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan and Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
This Special Meeting, whose motto is “Global cooperation, growth and energy for development”, will be attended by Heads of State and Government, as well as business leaders. The debates will cover topics such as sustainable development, energy security, trade and investment and current geopolitical issues.
The Prime Minister will participate in a panel discussion at the opening of the special meeting, along with other leaders, entitled “A new vision for global development.”
In addition, the WEF program will include a Joint Regional Strategic Dialogue on ASEAN and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with a view to the Malaysian ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, during which the Prime Minister is expected to deliver the speech opening.

Another highlight of the working visit is the country strategy dialogue, where the Prime Minister will meet with prominent business leaders to explore Malaysia’s economic opportunities.
This curated session will provide insights into Malaysia’s strategic priorities and initiatives, focusing on economic and fiscal growth, as well as trade and investment opportunities.
The debates will cover topics such as sustainable development, energy security, trade and investment and current geopolitical issues.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet with other Heads of State and Government to strengthen bilateral relations, enhance cooperation in various areas of mutual interest and discuss issues of regional and global importance.
This working visit will further consolidate the long-standing close relations between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, and strengthen the personal bond of friendship between the leaders.
