Up to 1,000 children from Central Singapore will be exposed to the arts and digital creation in the fourth edition of ‘My Digital Bootcamp’. The programme is a collaboration between the Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC) and UOB. It is part of the Central Singapore CDC’s SkillsFuture Junior movement. The movement aims to equip young residents with digital and social skills to be future-ready in an increasingly technologically advanced society.
Immersive learning experiences
Through thematic bootcamps running from now until March 2025, children will gain digital creation skills and understand today’s digital landscape in a fun and engaging way. These bootcamps complement school and community coding programs. This is the first time My Digital Bootcamp has been offered to lower primary school students. Additionally, digital art will be integrated into the latest curriculum to give children additional exposure to spark their creativity.
Players can choose between two immersive narratives: Save the world from a malevolent force known as “The Glitch” in Digital Defenders: Rise of The Super Squad or join the Amazing Tech Titans to solve global challenges.
Modular workshops
Attendees participate in modular, competency-based workshops to learn digital creation skills such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, web development, game design, and coding.
Through the bootcamp, they will also be exposed to interpersonal skills such as creativity, logical reasoning, pattern recognition, relationship management, and communication skills, among others.
In each two-day bootcamp, participants will attend four workshops comprising: two core modules (with a digital art component) and two elective modules (choosing from six different workshops)

To encourage learning beyond the Initiation Camp, each child will take home a digital home learning (HBL) kit so they can continue to practice what they have learned. These kits are set up based on the two narratives, with different content for the two storylines.
Strong partnership between Central Singapore CDC and UOB
My Digital Bootcamp was made possible through Central Singapore CDC’s long-standing partnership with UOB. A strong supporter since the programme’s inception in 2019, UOB has donated $2 million across four seasons of My Digital Bootcamp, with $500,000 allocated to Season 4. Nearly 5,000 children from 50 schools and organisations will benefit across the 4 seasons. Today, the second day of the fourth season of My Digital Bootcamp kicked off at Townsville Primary School with a cheque presentation ceremony.
The event was attended by Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital and Information Development and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Jalan Besar GRC GROs grassroots advisor Denise Phua Lay Peng, Mayor of Singapore Central District, and Rosalind Lee, Head of Business Banking at UOB.
Around 60 students from Townsville Primary School and Pathlight School attended four workshops held simultaneously. Students brought their imaginations to life with the digital skills taught.
Ms Josephine Teo said: “Technology is an important part of our daily lives. Digital inclusion plays a vital role in ensuring that all segments of society benefit from it. That is why programmes like My Digital Bootcamp are so important to ensure that our children can access digital skills regardless of their background. We want them to be future-ready. It is one more step towards achieving a Singapore where everyone can live a full and meaningful life, enabled by technology, that offers exciting opportunities for all.”

Denise Phua, Mayor of Central Singapore CDC, said: “My Digital Bootcamp equips children from underprivileged backgrounds with crucial digital skills, ensuring they are not left behind in our tech-centric world. By fusing art with technology, our expanded curriculum sparks creativity and inspires innovative uses of digital tools. We deeply appreciate UOB’s continued support in empowering these young learners and warmly welcome more companies to join us and contribute to the growth of our community.”
Leonard Tan, UOB Group Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, said: “UOB is a proud long-standing supporter of My Digital Bootcamp. It is a programme that develops young minds and equips our children with digital and social skills so they can thrive in an increasingly digital world. It is a testament to UOB’s promise to do right by the communities around us and commitment to investing in the future of our young people.”
My Digital Bootcamp is one of the 52 programme offerings under Central Singapore CDC that aims to better support its residents in their lifelong learning journey.
