Tiktok officially launched last week to Tiktok Shop in Brazil, its new e -commerce function that allows users to buy products directly through the platform, without having to access third party websites or applications. The news integrates purchases with short videos, live broadcasts and profile showcases, connecting creators, consumers and brands in the same digital environment.
With over 110 million users, Brazil is today the third largest Tiktok market in the world. The arrival of Tiktok Shop should boost the social retail model in the country, especially between small and medium enterprises, which gain a new tool for digitizing their business. Interested sellers can create an affiliate account and have a support structure offered by the platform itself to optimize their sales.
Analysts evaluate that the initiative makes room for greater integration between social networks and online trade in Brazil, as well as representing a new front for Chinese companies to explore the global digital market within the Digital Silk Route proposal.
