The studios also confirmed they will be attending New York Comic Con, which runs from October 17-20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Set 183 years before the events narrated in the original trilogy of films, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim tells the fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan. The sudden attack of Wulf, a cunning and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking revenge for his father’s death, forces Helm and his people to bravely resist at the ancient stronghold of Helm’s Deep, a mighty fortress that later becomes known as the fortress of Helm’s Deep. Amidst an increasingly desperate situation, Héra, the protagonist’s daughter, must find the strength to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy bent on their complete destruction.

As for the cast, Brian Cox plays Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan and the protagonist. Gaia Wise plays Héra, Helm’s daughter. Luke Pasqualino plays Wulf, a Dunlending lord. Miranda Otto reprises her role from the original films as Éowyn, the Shieldmaiden of Rohan, and also serves as the narrator.

The cast also includes Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Benjamin Wainwright, Laurence Ubong Williams, Shaun Dooley, Michael Wildman, Jude Akuwudike, Bilal Hasna and Janine Duvitski.

Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Sam Register, Carolyn Blackwood and Toby Emmerich are executive producers on the film. Jackson directed and co-wrote the live-action trilogies of The Lord of the Rings y The Hobbitand Walsh co-wrote the scripts.

Joseph Chou (also known for his work in Blade Runner: Black Lotus TV series) is the producer. The script, based on the story of Addiss and Matthews, is written by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance), Phoebe Gittins y Arty Papageorgiou.

Philippa Boyens, Oscar winner and part of the writing team for the live-action trilogies of The Lord of the Rings y The Hobbitis the project consultant.

Jason DeMarco, Adult Swim’s senior vice president and head of anime and action series and senior vice president of anime and action series/long-form productions at Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, is a producer on the film and confirmed that the film will be in 2D.
