On 11 September 2023, Thailand’s Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Busadee Santipitaks chaired the inaugural session of the Diplomatic Workshop for Myanmar’s New Diplomats, held from 10 to 15 September 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand .
This workshop was an initiative within the framework of human resources development cooperation discussed during the meeting between Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. U Chan Aye, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, on July 21, 2023.

Organized by the Thai International Cooperation Agency (TICA), this workshop helped strengthen cooperation in human resources development between both ministries.
The trainees had the opportunity to improve their diplomatic skills and English for diplomatic purposes, learn about the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and its application in real life, as well as deepen their knowledge about Thailand.

In the afternoon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a Thailand-Myanmar networking night. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ureerat Charroento, Director General of TICA, and welcoming remarks were given by Sihasak Phuangketkeow, former Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
The event was joined by newly hired diplomats from both countries and Thai diplomats stationed in Myanmar, which was a good opportunity to establish friendships and create networks for future cooperation.
