Ingredients

2 cups of wheat flour

1 ½ cups of sugar

1 cup milk (can be plant-based, like almond or soy milk)

½ cup vegetable oil (such as canola or sunflower oil)

1 tablespoon of white vinegar

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)

Preparation mode
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with oil and flour.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, oil, vinegar and vanilla extract, if using.
- Pour the liquid ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix until you obtain a homogeneous dough. Do not overmix; just enough to incorporate the ingredients.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before unmolding. Then transfer to a cooling rack until completely cool. Serve as you prefer.
