Scientific payloads for science and technology experiments carried by China’s first reusable and returnable satellite, Shijian-19, were delivered to Chinese and foreign researchers on Thursday.
At the payload delivery ceremony held by the China National Space Administration (CNSA) in Beijing on Thursday, CNSA and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation signed payload delivery certificates with Chinese and international companies including those of Thailand and Pakistan.
Bian Zhigang, deputy head of CNSA, said that the Shijian-19 mission fully takes advantage of the new-generation recoverable space experiment platform, conducting space breeding experiments with about a thousand species of germplasm resources, providing crucial support for the innovation of germplasm resources in China. The mission also provided a valuable opportunity to validate, in orbit, components and raw materials produced in China.
The Shijian-19 satellite was launched into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on September 27, and was successfully recovered at the Dongfeng airfield in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. northern China on October 11.
